Pirates’ Cove, located on Galveston Bay just north of FM 3005 and 12 Mile Rd, is one of Galveston’s most prized West End neighborhoods. Bordered by Lake Como on the west and Lafitte’s Cove to the east, Pirate’s Cove includes Enclave, a community of luxury homes on the bay, as well as golf-course homes which adjoin Galveston Country Club, Texas’s oldest private country club founded in 1898. Many of the most desired homes surround Lake Como and enjoy easy access to West Galveston Bay.
Pirate’s Cove residents enjoy a glorious nature preserve managed by the Lafitte’s Cove Nature Society. The preserve is home to hundreds of species of birds that use the area as a stopover while migrating across the Gulf of Mexico. A nature trail and an overlook with a gazebo allow residents to enjoy Galveston’s nature at its best.
Lake, bay and canal waters are home to an array of water sports, boating and fishing enjoyed daily by lucky Pirates Cove home owners. Additional activities include walking, jogging, swimming, tennis, or a quick trip across FM3005 to for some beachcombing.
Pirates Cove is incorporated in a single association with Lafitte’s Cove, Pirates Beach and Pirates Beach West. The Pirates Property Owners Association (“PPOA”) represents the 1,600-plus families who make up the combined Pirates Community.
